A Revolution from Birth

Sound Blaster

In the 80s, the PC was only capable of speaking in mere beeps. And then it all started to change when, with the aim of bringing sound into the computer world, we gave the PC a voice by developing the Creative Music System music card in 1987. The PC sound standard for the world was then created in 1989 with the launch of the very first Sound Blaster 1.0 sound card, igniting the start of the PC audio revolution.

Since then, we made it a habit to enthrall with every Sound Blaster launched. Just to name a few of these unforgettable landmark moments, Sound Blaster 16 (1992) brought CD-quality audio to PC games. With Sound Blaster Live! (1998), multi-channel audio became reality. The Audigy series upped the game with 7.1 surround sound (2003), and computer rooms became home theaters at home. And with Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD (2010), we pushed the envelope on audio development into the audiophile territory.

Rising Out
of the PC

We were breaking all kinds of rules and boundaries with Sound Blaster as the Audio Engine in a PC. With its immense development potential, it was only a matter of time before Sound Blaster broke free of the confines of a CPU.

Platform

We evolved Sound Blaster in the form of seriously competent external sound cards for platforms like gaming and entertainment consoles, as well as mobile devices. We paved the way with the very first USB sound card, Sound Blaster Extigy (2004). We championed hi-resolution audio for both desktops and mobile devices with Sound Blaster E5 (2014). We invented the category ‘gaming soundbar’ with Sound BlasterX Katana (2017). With Sound BlasterX G6 (2018), we brought digital audio processing to a new level for both desktops and gaming consoles. And in 2019, we break new ground with Sound Blaster X3 incorporating the award-winning Super X-Fi Headphone Holography.

Sound Blaster was never meant to be kept in just the PC. External Sound Blasters were a natural progression. As the needs of discerning users grew, we expanded the portfolio to enable connectivity to gaming consoles and mobile devices.
Sound Blaster

Performance

For us, audio performance is so much more than a specs game. The ‘big numbers’ in SNR ratio, impedance and other specifications mean nothing without the necessary expertise in technical knowledge, acoustic engineering, and design applied. In order to harness the optimal aspects of the components in a sound card, we manifest technical knowledge, acoustic engineering expertise, and design in defining the true performance standard of every Sound Blaster.
